LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 'FIRE'
This tired and old looking Defender started out life as a 2.5 Non-Turbo Diesel 90 SWB 1989 but then recieved a 300tdi engine upgrade . This Defender has undergone alot of work as the customer just keeps coming back for more! As you can now see its barely recognisable.
Firstly the Defender was to receive a full re-spray in gloss black but before we could start that there was some serious corrosion to the drivers A-pillar to repair. See pictures for where the old pillar was cut out and the new one welded into place. It's important that corrosion is removed rather than just covered as it can still spread. It had chequer plate added before the repaint for full colour coding. The Defender also recieved a grill and front DRL bumper upgrade. LED exterior lighting fitted to front and rear. At a later date the customer also decided they would like new doors fitting and also the roof to be painted Burnt Pearl Orange to accent the interior. We then finished off the exterior with an alloy wheel upgrade, wheel spacers and some great All-Terrain tyres fitting.
Next up was the interior. We supplied various swatches for the customer to choose from before deciding on going for a tan vinyl interior. As you will see in the pictures the contrast between the old tatty interior and the new 'one-off' tan interior is outstanding. The original Land Rover seats were stripped, re padded and then re-trimmed. The roof lining, dash board and door cards were then trimmed in the same finish. Finally to finish we fitted a complete 90 carpet set to the front and rear of the vehicle including carpeted interior van side panels.
